Viking Spectacle Helm with Leather Liner, Antiqued Finish 1.6 mm Steel

The Spangenhelm was a widely used helmet throughout the Early Middle Ages. One of the most significant finds of this kind is the Gjermundbu helmet, dating to around the 10th century, which provides valuable insight into the construction of Norse helmets from this period.
This helmet is not an authentic replica of a historical find, but an interpretation of Early Medieval nasal helmets from the Vendel and Viking Ages. The helm is made from 1.6 mm thick steel and the qntique finish gives it a battle worn appearance. The helmet bowl and the individual reinforcing bands, including the brow band, the bands running from back to front and from ear to ear as well as the face guard are all securely joined with steel rivets.
Inside the helmet features an adjustable leather liner for a comfortable, individual fit. A leather chin strap with a brass buckle ensures a secure fit.
This fully wearable helmet is an ideal accessory for LARP, fantasy, fancy dress, stage or TV/film and collectors.

The steel used is not rust-proof and might show slight surface tarnishing in places. It is recommended that you maintain helmets (and armour in general) on a regular basis, for example using a Universal Oil, which is ideally suited for steel care.
