Viking Brooch in “Borre style” made of silver
The brooch is based on a replica of an original discovery and shows the typical Borre style of intertwining knots and animal decoration.
The Borre style followed the Osebergstil in the 9th century and lasted until the mid-10th century. The early medieval Borre (or gripping animal) style is named after the Norwegian town of Borre. Animal and node ornaments are the hallmarks of this style which was later replaced by the Jelling style.
