The Thraex was Roman gladiator would have worn a helmet like this and our replica manufactured by Deepeeka is faithful to the original of the Thraex Gladiator Helmet from 79a.d. that was found during exavations in Pompeii. Along with the helmet the Thraex Gladiator would have been been armed with a small rectangular shield called a parmula and a very short sword with a curved blade called a Sica. This was used to attack his opponant back. Greaves, a sword arm protector and belt would have him ready for the arena.
