Surcoats Cloaks and Coats
Templar Tabard, Lined
A calf-length tunic made of polyester-wool blend with a cotton lining. The tabard is slightly flared and has a slit in the middle.
The tabard or surcoat (also surcote, German: Wappenrock, Waffenrock or Waffenkleid) came about in the 12th century and was worn by many crusaders over their armour.
The red cross was meant to be conspicuous, showing that the crusader was fighting for the liberation of Jerusalem and the Christian faith.
For an authentic look, we recommend you to combine the tunic with a belt.
