Sir William Marshal Sword 12 Century, Blunt SK-B, Battle Re-enactment
12c. Sir William Marshal Sword with Scabbard, Practical Blunt, SK-B
The original of this reconstruction was once used by one of the most outstanding English knights, Sir William Marshal, first Earl of Pembroke, who faithfully served the British crown under Henry II, Richard the Lion heart and John Lackland. The sword is now kept in a British museum.
Our sword is an accurately detailed replica of the original.
It is exclusively hand-crafted. Both the guard and pommel are made of heat-treated malleable cast iron. The spring steel blade is hand-riveted to the pommel. The hilt is leather bound. The blade is oil-tempered up to 48-50° Rockwell and has a distinctive fuller which offers both great flexibility and a lighter weight. The edges of the blade are blunt and the tip is rounded for safety.
The wooden scabbard is leather bound and features brass rings for fastening to the sword belt.

Please Note:
Our swords referred to as battle-ready or practical are designed to suit the needs of historical re-enactment / stage fighting and to practice swordplay. The extremely brutal impact of cutting edge against cutting edge (or any other hard object) cannot be considered an appropriate use of these swords and may eventually lead to the breaking of the blade. The warranty we offer in such a case only covers material defects (e.g. hairline cracks in the blade or processing faults). It does not apply to damages resulting from a destructive or inappropriate handling of these swords. Please also bear in mind that a practical sword is basically and essentially an item subject to wear and tear.
