Roman Chain Mail Shorts, ID 6mm, Size Large

Authentic and Battle-Ready chain mail pants (shorts), made from 6mm fine chain mesh.The lower flap is adjusted by individual lacing with the upper part of the waist.
The RM chain mail type is constructed from small rings with an inner diameter of 6 mm. As per original finds, it is woven with alternate rows of riveted round rings (domed rivet heads) and punched flat rings.The extremely small inner ring diameter has made it possible to manufacture this particular chain mail out of 1 mm steel without impairing its effectiveness, and thereby to achieve a weight reduction of about 30 - 35%.

The common abbreviation for this particular weave is RM (Roman Mail), and  was popular with the ancient Celts and Romans ( called Lorica Hamata). It remained in use throughout the ages and was commonly worn right up to the late Middle Ages.
