Plain Medieval Coif without Ties, Natural-Coloured
This Medieval coif (also: coiffe) is made of a simple cotton fabric and is loosely placed upon the head.
Coifs were already in use in the 12th century, as evidenced by numerous contemporary illustrations. In the European Middle Ages, wearing a head covering was commonplace and headwear of the kind we offer here did not only cover the heads of children, women and men of the lower classes, but was also worn (in padded form) by warriors under a chain mail coif or a helmet.
This coif is ideal for LARP, re-enactment or living history.
