The set is made up of a wooden wax book (four blank pages), one brass pen (stylus) and a matching leather pouch. You use the flat back side of the pen to flatten (erase) the writing in the wax. This type of wax book was used by Romans as paper was so costly, this type of book was used well into the modern era. Use the leather strap to attach the pouch to your belt.
