This fully wearable Medieval gorget,  is a detailed reproduction of a Late-Medieval neck and chin defence inspired by 15th- and 16th-century Gothic plate armour. Its characteristic multi-piece construction combines protection for the neck and chin with a movable upper plate.

The gorget is made from 1.6 mm thick steel and consists of several overlapping plates joined with rivets. A particularly distinctive feature is the movable upper chin and face plate, which can be raised and lowered. When raised, the plate reaches to just below the eyes and gives the gorget its characteristic Late-Medieval appearance.

The top edge of the armour collar is reinforced and the edges are neatly folded over, which minimises the risk of injury. The back is open and does not feature a neck guard. A riveted leather strap with a brass buckle allows for secure fastening and individual adjustment to the neck size.

The collar is ideal for lLate Medieval and Renaissance settings. Equally suited for the portrayal of a broad array of historical figures and fictional/fantasy characters,  Ideal for Medieval re-enactment, LARP, stage, TV/film, costuming, or cosplay.

Please Note:
Please take your measurements over your gambeson and/or piece of clothing or chain mail that you will wear underneath.

Specs may slightly vary from piece to piece.

The steel used is not rust-proof and might show slight surface tarnishing in places. It is recommended that you maintain plate armour on a regular basis, for example using a Universal Oil, which is ideally suited for steel care.
