Authentic reconstruction of the Roman Lorica Segmentata, type Kalkriese.
The Lorica Segmentata was popular with the Roman army for more than 200 years. The earliest findings were in Kalkriese, Germany, and are said to come from the year 9 anno Domini.
Kalkriese is a presumed site of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. In contrary to later versions, e.g. from Newstead, the armour from Corbridge and Kalkriese were adjustable in size. Our replica is fitting with a chest girth of 116cm to 120 cm. Measurements should be taken over any items that will be worn underneath.
