Latchet Turnshoes, Front-Laced
These latchet shoes are suitable for both ladies and genteel gentlemen. The shoes are hand-made following archaeological finds from Schleswig and Constance, Germany and are suitable for authentic representation of periods from 1100 to 1500 AD.
The shoe is laced at the instep and the sole is made of 4 mm thick, vegetable tanned leather (cowhide), the upper leather (also vegetable tanned), is 1.8 mm thick.
The shoes are handmade in the authentic turn-sewn method. A turn shoe was a type of footwear made of leather that was used during the Middle Ages. It was so called turn shoe because it was put together inside-out and then turned right side out once finished.
These shoes are quite flat and narrow, especially at the toes. If you happen to have wider feet or just prefer somewhat roomier shoes, we recommend that you go up a size.

These shoes' durability are not comparable to modern footwear. They are sensitive to asphalt and gravel.
