The original on which this fitting is based dates to the 8th – 11th century and was found in the Swedish Viking settlement of Birka. The brass belt chape shows a Nordic motif. There are two 1 cm long pins on the back, which can be used to attach the fitting to a leather belt or bag.
The belt fitting is ideal for your own DIY belt projects or as a replacement/spare part. It fits perfectly with Viking Age costumes and is the ideal accessory for re-enactment, LARP or fancy dress.
