Medieval Helmets
Bascinet Helmet without Visor, 2 mm steel
This battle ready replica of a bassinet helmet without visor dates to the middle of the 14th century. This type of helmet evolved from the skull cap or “cervelliere.”
The helmet is hand beaten out of 2 mm steel and has been welded together in two halves. The helmet is suitable for full-contact reenactment.
A comfortable, padded cloth liner is attached to the helmet. The brass rivets (vervelles) at the sides are for attachment of an aventail to cover the chest and shoulders.
