11th to 13th Century Scabbards

Arming Sword Scabbards during the High Medieval Period (1000-

1300) have a distinctive tied belt fastening.

There are various methods of attaching the belt to the scabbard,

including the “Z” and “X” styles in these pictures, but the belts always

had a “swallowtail” tied belt.

My scabbards follow this style, with an authentic wood core covered in

leather, with integrated belts and a brass chape.

Scabbards are individually crafted in England to fit your individual

sword. I am happy to work from dimensions, so do not need your

sword.

Scabbards start from £250 plus post.

The example scabbard in the picture would be £300 plus post made to

fit your sword in your choice of colour
